Junior Operator Laws
Teenages who get their learner's permit on or after September 1, 2007 and their parents will face new requirements for obtaining a junior operator's license. The Junior Operator License law, which was amended on January 3, 2007, called for "zero tolerance" penalties to be implemented in the spring and new driver's education curriculum and more behind-the-wheel training to go into effect in the fall. The goal of the new Junior Operator License law is to reduce teen driver crash rates and deaths.
